Guide to using Metallics

There are multiple options when using metallics like silver and gold. It is important to keep in mind where your design will be printed prior to making your color selection. Below are a few tips to help you understand the color choices.

PANTONE METALLIC INK

  • Can be printed with metallic ink with a professional printer
  • Can be printed in metallic ink on swag
  • Foil can be used as an alternative on invitations, cocktail napkins and more when that process is an option.
  • If being printed using a printer that does not have metallic ink, or if your art is being used on a screen it will look gray/brown.
  • EXAMPLES:

GRADIENT INK

  • This option uses multiple Pantone colors to make the overall image look metallic
  • If being used on apparel, this will add to the printing cost.
  • Foil can be used as an alternative on invitations, cocktail napkins, and more when that process is an option.
  • EXAMPLES:

METALLIC GLITTER

  • This option uses multiple Pantone colors to make the overall image look like glitter
  • If being used on apparel, you can request glitter ink.
  • Foil can be used as an alternative on invitations, cocktail napkins, and more when that process is an option.
  • NOTE: There is an additional $25 fee to design logos with this option.
